Business expansion leads to new management position at Eberl Iron Works
BUFFALO, NY – Eberl Iron Works, Inc., has promoted Gregory N. Jones to operations manager, a new position. Jones, who joined the 92-year-old company in 1994, had been customer service/inside sales supervisor. Now third in command, he is charged with overseeing production, facilities, operations and customer service.
In making the announcement, co-owners John C. Eberl, chief executive officer, and Nora E. Eberl, chief financial officer, cited their need to “work on the business, rather than in the business.”
“Our product lines are growing organically,” said John Eberl. “In addition to our existing business units, we are now manufacturing more finished products and building more systems. This expansion has created the need to integrate our production, customer service, and inside and outside sales functions for maximum effectiveness.”
~ John Eberl, Chief Executive Officer
“A lot of Greg’s new responsibilities had been John’s,” Nora Eberl added. “Delegating internal operations to an experienced and knowledgeable manager allows John to turn his attention outward and provide greater value to our customers. “Greg’s new role gives both of us an opportunity to focus on the big picture. His understanding of our business, technical expertise and deep concern for every member of our team make him a tremendous asset in an important leadership role.”
~ Nora Eberl, Chief Financial Officer
Early Career
Jones began his career at EIW as a shear assistant. He rose quickly to machine assistant and machine operator before transferring to customer service. After earning an associate’s degree from Hilbert College, he worked in retail management and owned a martial arts school.
“We’re excited about this development,” John concluded. “Greg’s promotion not only acknowledges his contributions as a valued long-time employee, it also demonstrates the positive evolution of our company.”
